I am so looking forward to this book, Lore! Reading this post moved my heart toward wonder, curiosity, and a sense of healing. That’s the effect I felt reading this. I guess understanding fosters those emotions. And understanding is what this exercise brings, of looking underneath. ❤️
The woods and wildflowers and fungi intersected with my own small story within the collective 2016-now story. I think God used them to ground and save me many times over.
Will certainly preorder your book when the time comes!
I am reading your second book at the moment and I love it. I'm looking forward to your new book, Lore. I also hope that one day your books will be translated to Dutch. I'd love to share them with my friends here 🇧🇪
Aw, thank you. One can hope! I'm not sure the process for getting a book translated into another language, but I believe demand has something to do with it, so if you really want them translated, ask your local bookstores to stock it! Thank you, Evie, for always showing up here =)
I’m ready for this book. I’m so grateful that you wrote it, and grateful for the ways you share. Thank you, Lore. So much of your post here rings familiar bells for me. The last few years have been excruciating. And still there is goodness yet.
Lore...I cannot tell you the depths at which I love this. I, too, have been writing a book about trees of sorts, albeit it at a much slower pace. I had taken quite a few of your hints to think you may be doing the same. I cannot wait to read your words, and maybe someday, we can take a walk in the forest together!
I've been wondering if you were working on a parallel sort of project =) I cannot wait to see what you produce. Your life is such rich loam for a beautiful book. Sign me up to read, review, endorse when you get there, friend.
I am a generally anonymous (and faithful) reader and a lover of nature. The melding of creation and understory and becoming- I am terribly excited for this coming work. Thank you!
Hello, Kristy! I love getting to "meet" anonymous readers though I completely understand the pleasure of anonymity. I lurk on a few substacks I love too =)
I cannot wait to read this!! I love the cover. May seems so far away...
Something in my heart knows I need this. Thank you for writing your words and sharing them with us!

I have a suspicion that this will become a beloved book for me.
Well done, Lore! I cannot wait to read it.
I'm so excited to read this book. I know it will be such a good read!!
Thank you!

Ground us, yes, I think that's what we all have needed, right?
Literally and metaphorically, yes
We have a title! Yay! Thanks for sharing, and eager to hear more. Really love reading your thoughts on all this
Thank you!
Love your new title, Lore!! 🎉🌳
Thank you, Jodi. I do too. It set the theme for the entire book.

We really can learn a lot from the trees. Absolutely cannot wait to read this. 💚
Hopefully you're okay learning a lot from what's under the trees ;) Thank you!
You mean the things in the dirt, deep in the darkness, and among the roots that grow deep and wide? Most definitely okay with that.
Can't wait to preorder this! 💕
Thank you! Truly!
Too much of what you went through mirror's my life in these last few years. I can't wait to read your story!
I am so sorry and also, I am so glad you are still standing.

Excruciating. Yes. I never want to over-exaggerate, but yes, so many days when that was the apropos word. Love to you friend.
I sobbed reading this. Seriously. Perfect timing in my life. Grateful you took to the forest for all of us, friend.
Oh, Carrie Beth, I'm so glad you're here. We're all in it together.
