Hi Lore. Thanks for the John Green video and for sharing your thoughts/words about hope. I've always kind of struggled with hope, and even more so these days. And "a lantern while looking for yourself" strikes a chord. I've never made a vision board before. I like Emma Gannon's perspective as I am not a 5 year or (eek) 10 year planner either - I like the moving towards perspective and focusing on who I am and how I want to feel. So thanks for that, too.
Huge fan of this format! I liked the links before but this makes me realize that I tended to feel overwhelmed by how many there were :) this feels more approachable 🤗
Thank you for this! Short, good links and a lot of love spread! Good format! Also, which quote by Emily D. do you refer to? I scroll back and forth and couldn't find... am I missing something or is it connected to a past letter? Thanks! Sorry if it it is obvious but I think I missed it :P
My husband has been talking about communal living for a minute. The church I grew up in had a culture where singles were expected to live with families so from the time I can remember until I was around 12 years old, we always had another adult in the house. It was unusual but I am so grateful for it.
Agree! It's like the Paradox of Choice - the more choices (links) you give me, the less likely I am to click any. But 6 links across 6 categories feels very doable.
Thanks for making this public. As a senior bound by ss$ and medical bills, it's fun to get a peek into what we otherwise can't afford. And these are *awesome*. Again, thank you!
I loved the NYT article. It is so true, relationships cost us something. As you wrote I would love to have both... Freedom, space, just us... And the everyday closeness with friends. And that is my struggle in everyday life 😭
I didn’t know 2026 was going to be the year of the analogue but I made a violin (and bow) and a guitar out of cardboard and yarn for my kids this weekend and they have been loving them. The sound of their singing while “playing” the instruments is far sweeter than a real violin or guitar would sound played by small children. Highly recommend!!
obsessed with this 💛 i introduced my little sister to (some of) the music of les miserables when she was probably about 6, and she came up to me once and showed me how she could play “one day more” on her little homemade harp made of rubber bands and a wooden box
Maybe something that will help engagement with the link love posts is to ask people to share a comment *before they click the link* on which one has sparked their interest that they are going to explore.
Thanks =) It's less that I want engagement for engagement sake. People have enough to do in life itself. The lack of it, particularly on LL posts, though, just made me think they weren't helpful for people.

I need a house so I can make those tiles!!! Absolutely gorgeous. Humans are amazing.
Also absolutely yes to the year of analog/making things
Brilliant, thanks for the links, going to look now.
Love the new format! Keeping the list smaller makes me more likely to check each thing out.

Of course! And, as always, I offer comped subscriptions to anyone who needs one =) You didn't ask, but I just comped you a lifetime subscription =)
Aren't you a darling! Unexpected, but thank you so much!

I think it's a good struggle to have =)
You should check out the episode of the Wild Card podcast that John Green did. It gave me hope: https://www.npr.org/2026/01/01/nx-s1-5643051/john-green-encore
Ooooh, yes, going to listen now.
