Buckling in for this. Leaning in too as my husband and I make some decisions about where we will buy a house in Houston. Thanks for talking about this.

Thank you for being here for it. Listening to the stories of others and letting them bear weight on our own lived experiences is so important, I think.

Looking forward to reading. You know how I feel so deeply and passionately for children, so yeah fun violence has to change. Has to.

I will always talk about this. I cursed this event in my life for a long time until I realized the way to get power over its place in my life was to start talking about it.

It changed the way I vote, the way I think about gentrification, the way I think about trauma, the way I feel about racial profiling, the difficulty of policing, mass incarceration, abortion, war—pretty much no value went unturned in my life after this event. The connections that had been invisible to me before were illuminated. I'll never call it good but I can say it ultimately produced good in me, and I hope it produces good through me. Thanks for chiming in, Liz.

Talking about these things is the only way through. ❤️ So true.
