Last night Nate turned on the fourth episode of the new season of Black Mirror. I myself haven’t watched Black Mirror since that whole pig debacle of season one episode one, which is to say, I myself wouldn’t have turned it on. But he did and we watched it. The episode is titled Plaything and (spoiler alert) it’s basically what happens if we let AI keep doing what it’s doing.

This morning I read this from

, a conversation (if we can call it that) between Heather and ChatGPT, and it has me thinking again.

Last summer I tried ChatGPT for the first time and was unimpressed. Life was busy and, despite every creator I knew running around saying “the sky is falling,” I forgot about it. Until, in a moment of desperation, I remembered.
