What a lovely compliment. I always hope to aspire to this. ⬇️

“Her gentle, quiet, tender voice and ability to simply listen without her eyes darting to all the other impressive voices and faces in the room—it calmed me.”

Wow. That line about assuming hesitations are yellow flags not red flags, is WISDOM. I'm gonna think about that for a long while.

Right? Isn't that such a good bit? The whole book is so, so good.

I’ve followed Emily for years and met her awhile ago, too. Thanks for sharing your story with us, too. Would love to connect more with you:).

Thank you for inviting us into this wise and grace-filled conversation ... I wish I would have done a much kinder exit out of several rooms along the way ...

I wish that too =) And I wish it for my future self too!

I have followed Emily's work for a long time. I listened to the podcast when she first started it! I have a bookstore gift card and may venture out and pick this up today. I am on hold at the library but I may not be able to wait that long! Thank you for this delightful post today!

I hope you're able to get it! It really is a beautifully done book =)

I am so excited to get my copy today! I also really relate to that idea of leaving in a way that gives others more closure than I've given myself. I will be thinking on that. Not to prioritize my feelings over everyone else's, but to prioritize them too.

Yes! Prioritize them too. That's the key =)

I think as we heal, we help the world heal a little bit more by degree. So keep on healing =)
